    Keeping Yourself Protected

    Dear Valued Customer:

We value the relationships we have with all of our customers, and would like to do everything we can to keep our customers safe.

For almost a century, our clients have entrusted Greer CPW and our employees, welcoming us into their homes in return for top notch utility service.  This could also be viewed as an opportunity for thieves to enter into your homes, taking advantage of the trust you have in our services.  We are taking a proactive stance to protect your home from scams and to continue our valuable relationship with you.

Keep in mind the possibility of thieves posing as utility workers, and remember these facts about us to confirm you are dealing with a Greer CPW representative:

    • All Greer CPW employees have identification badges to confirm their identity.
    • We often respond to incidents after hours and on weekends, so do not be alarmed of our employees are not in full uniform; employees will always have a Greer CPW identification badge.
    • All utility vehicles display the Greer CPW name.  Outside contractors (tree crews, line trucks, meter testers, leak surveyors, etc.) may be used, in which they would not have an identifying badge or vehicle, but they will never require access into your home.
    • In almost all cases we are responding to a request for service, in which case you would be expecting us.  There are certain emergencies that require access to a meter on your property, but entrance into the home of a customer is done at the request of the resident only.
    • An employee’s identification can be easily confirmed by calling us at (864) 848-5500.

We appreciate your precaution in this matter.  We value your trust in our company and employees and will always put your safety first in all aspects of our service to you.
