Transcript for "Intro to PayGo and How to Log In"

I’m Alison Rauch, the Public Information Coordinator with Greer CPW, and today we’re going to talk about the features of PayGo.

PayGo is our Customer Service Portal and where you view your bill, pay your bill, set up communication preferences with us and view your near real time utility usage. This is a new feature that really helps customers understand their daily usage.

To get to this website, simply click the yellow “Account Login” button on the top right of Greer CPW’s website. Enter your username and password, or if this is your first time signing in, click the “sign up now” link. There’s also registration instructions below.

Once you’re signed in you should see your address. Click on the line with your account number, or you can also use the drop-down menu under actions and choose “view account.”

From here it opens up to a wide variety of data that will help you understand your utility usage and bill. We’ll discuss those features in another video.

Understanding the Tabs in the Customer Service Portal:

Transcript for "Understanding the Tabs in the Customer Service Portal"

I’m Alison Rauch, the Public Information Coordinator with Greer CPW and today we’re going to talk about the features of PayGo, our customer service portal. In the previous video we discussed how to log in. Now we’ll discuss the drop-down menu.

The home button will give you a quick overview of your account including your recent usage for the last 7 days as well as the average daily usage for your account. This is helpful if you are trying to control your usage or pinpoint an issue you may be having like a toilet leak.

The reports tab will show you a little bit of everything related to when your meter was read, how many times you were notified and by what method. You’ll also receive receipts for your payments and a usage statement. Keep in mind there are different rate codes depending on where you live, if you are residential or commercial, and if it’s inside city limits. All our rate codes are published on Greer CPW’s website.

The Usage tab will give you a really good view of your historical utility usage for the year and then by month and you can even dive further in and see daily and then near hourly usage. You can also see these stats by dollars and then consumption. To manipulate the chart, just take your mouse and click on whatever month you’d like to focus in on. You can even remove or add a particular utility by clicking the mouse over it. The same for adding and removing the average high and low temperature. We promise you won’t break anything by clicking around and re-configuring the data. This is to help you as the customer better understand your utility usage.

The notification tab is where you choose how we communicate with you. You’ll receive notifications that are billing related like low balance, pending disconnection and payment received. We also use this contact information for public health situations like boil water advisories, planned power outages, gas leaks and severe weather.

The payment tab is where you can set up and schedule payments with a credit or debit card, add a bank account, or use the new feature CheckOut. CheckOut allows customers to pay their bill with cash at verified retailers like Dollar General, CVS, Family Dollar, Speedway, Walgreens, Walmart, and 7 Eleven. All you’ll need is the barcode linked to your account and show it to the cashier. You can find your barcode in your portal or it’s printed on the back of your bill. You’ll need to tell the cashier exactly how much you’d like to put towards your account, and you can pay partial payments or the full amount.

Moving to the AutoPay tab…if you’re like me and like the convenience of your bill being taken care of each month, you can set up AutoPay which uses your preferred payment method to pay your bill instead of submitting payment each month.

The support tab includes our customer service number and the address to mail payments.

We hope you found this video helpful.

Understanding Your Bill and Usage:

Transcript for "Understanding Your Bill and Usage"

I’m Alison Rauch, the Public Information Coordinator with Greer CPW and we’re glad you’ve joined us to learn more about PayGo. In previous videos we discussed how to log into the customer service portal, understanding the functions of the tabs once you log in and now we’ll discuss how to interpret your bill and usage.

Starting with reports tab and dropping down to “usage statement” i’m going to click a month to show you as an example. For this particular demonstration we’ll use a residential customer who lives within the City of Greer limits…

Let’s start with electric…Your bill is made up of a base charge and your consumption. The consumption line item will fluctuate based on what you as the customer use each month. You could also see a purchased power cost adjustment or PCA line.  This all depends on how much it costs to make electricity each month.  Greer CPW does not raise rates but would pass on the costs at no mark up to the customer for the actual price charged.

Water and wastewater services are billed together if you have both utilities.  We want to strongly encourage you to view your bill and determine which rate structure you are on as there are several.  We also want customers to take note of the other rates from ReWa (Renewable Water Resources) and Metro Connects.  Currently, some of your wastewater is treated at ReWa but billed by Greer CPW.  Rates from those organizations are subject to change at any time and CPW adjusts the bill as the rate changes occur. All customers are charged a sewer rehabilitation surcharge that serves several purposes… reduce the possibility of sanitary sewer overflows, improve the existing grease trap program, develop a customer relations program for all sewer customers, and develop a sewer line and manhole replacement program.

Moving onto natural gas and again we’re focusing on a residential customer in our service territory except for Lyman, Duncan, Wellford, Reidville and Landrum.  Those cities or towns have their own rate codes and those are published on our website.

We charge a base fee that remains the same each billing cycle.  This is the fee to simply provide natural gas to your home each month.  The consumption charge line item is what will fluctuate based on what you the customer uses each month. You can also see a Purchased Gas Adjustment or PGA.  Similar to electric this is a pass through at no markup depending on how much we had to pay for wholesale gas the previous month.

You can view rates for all our services on our website.  Just choose the “utilities” tab. We hope you found this video helpful and look forward to more videos in the future.

New Construction Requests:

Transcript for "New Construction Requests"

I’m Alison Rauch, the Public Information Coordinator with Greer CPW and we’re glad you’ve joined us to learn more about our electronic process for submitting NEW construction requests. This process replaces a PDF that was on our website which streamlines communication with our engineering department.  This process is for developers or residents looking to add services and taps to a new or existing address.

To get started you first need to create a customer account if you are new to Greer CPW or login to your existing account if you already have another service with us. This will be done via our Customer Service Portal – From the homepage, click the yellow “Account Log In” button on Greer CPW’s website and either log in or click the “Sign Up Now” link. It’s important to note having your construction permit and number nearby will expedite filling out this request as we need a lot of information that is on the permit.

Once in the portal, hit the “Construction Requests” button and then “Start a new Construction Request”.  The “utility review” tab is for large development projects so for this video example we’ll choose “Install service”.  If additional information is needed, we have a support documentation tab that will take you to our website to review specifications and standard details for installation. Confirm your project needs one or more of these services and hit the “next” button.

Choose whether you are installing services at a new or existing location. If you have no services currently with Greer CPW you will choose “new location”. For example, if you currently have electric with us but would like a natural gas services, you would choose “existing location”. Click on account and fill out your billing information. If you are a developer, clicking the “save as default” tab will help store your info for future use. Once complete hit the next button.   When you enter your address where the service will be installed — our system geocodes the address to determine a match. Click on the address that matches best and confirm it is in the right location and hit the next button.

On the next few pages, you’ll fill in answers to questions related to your project like construction permit number, commercial or residential, lot number, tax map number or subdivision and if you filed a permit inside or outside City of Greer limits. There will be boxes marked with a question mark that can assist in understanding why or what information we are looking for.

Then you will toggle buttons off and on for services that you’ll need. Based on your answers you’ll need to fill in questions related to those services.  If you have any questions, your electrician or plumber should be able to help.  We’ll ask questions like how many AMPS you’ll need, total BTUs, delivery pressure and how many appliances you expect to have and the size of water service line you need.

Finally, you’ll add a copy of your construction permit (which is mandatory) and on the next page confirm all your information provided is accurate before hitting the submit button.

Our team will verify services within one to three business days. Once verified by our engineering team, you will receive an email with confirmation from Greer CPW and next steps.  This is where you will log back online to your portal and pay any fees associated with your services. Once paid, work orders will generate for our team to get started on your new service! We hope you found this video helpful.
