Fishermen and those eager to learn the sport can fish Lake Robinson and Lake Cunningham fee free Memorial Day and Independence Day.
The decision was approved during the monthly meeting after commissioners learned the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) offered free fishing days on public freshwater lakes. In addition to the state waiving the license requirement for the two holidays, Greer CPW will also waive the $5 daily fishing permit fee for South Carolina residents and $15 for out of state residents.
“We hope anglers that may be unfamiliar with our lakes will take an opportunity to visit Greer and see what we have to offer,” said Gene Gibson, Greer CPW Chairman. “Free fishing days are also a perfect opportunity for beginners to try out fishing for the first time.”
