For many, the name Don Milner may not ring a bell but if you own a business that has a grease trap, you’ve likely met Don before. Don manages Greer CPW’s pretreatment program, educating customers about the importance of keeping sewer lines clean and protecting the waters after the treatment process.
Tuesday night, Don was recognized with the Legacy Service Award from The Water Environment Association of South Carolina (WEASC) Blue Ridge Foothills District. The award was established to acknowledge extraordinary service, leadership, and devotion to the industry.
“I was very surprised, but it was wonderful night. I got to see colleagues I hadn’t seen in quite some time, said Don Milner, Greer CPW Pretreatment Coordinator. It feels great knowing the hard work we do to protect the environment is recognized by the community and peers,” said Milner.
Don is also credited to the success of the annual drug take back day partnership with the Greer Police Department. Last year’s event collected 215 pounds of pills, keeping them away from drinking water resources.
Don has served in the industry for 43 years, 10 of those with Greer CPW. Congrats Don!
